“Every thought you have has an energy that will either strengthen or weaken you. It’s obviously a good idea to eliminate the thoughts that weaken you, since these thoughts are obstacles to creating a winning match with the universal, supreme Source of intention. … What you may fail to see inside is a result of how you choose to process everything and everyone in your world. You project onto the world what you see inside, and you fail to project into the world what you fail to see inside. … It is only discord acting within your own feelings that will ever deprive you of every good thing that life holds for you!” Raising Your Energy Level, Chapter 4. Obstacles to Connecting to Intention, THE POWER OF INTENTION (Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, 2004), p72

“The most powerful forces in the universe are the silent forces; and in accordance with the intensity of its power does a force become beneficent when rightly directed and destructive when wrongly employed. This is a common knowledge in regard to the mechanical forces, such as steam, electricity, etc., but few have yet learned to apply this knowledge to the realm of mind, where the thought-forces(most powerful of all) are continually being generated and sent forth as currents of salvation or destruction.” – The Silent Power of Thought: Controlling and Directing One’s Forces, THE PATH TO PROSPERITY (James Allen, 1901), p89

Everything in This Universe is a Movement of Energy

There is a famous quote by the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Max Planck, as he accepted his award for his study of atom.

“As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear-headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as the result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such! All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together … We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.” 1

Everything is energy. Energy waves according to Quantum principles. Matter in all the different molecules, elements and forms is just configurations of energy. Everything we interact with is composed of one thing, waving energy. 2

Everything is vibrations because, at the lowest microscopic level, you will notice subatomic particles, electrons and such. Now the lowest form of matter is an electron, and everything in life is made up from these electrons in different formations. Everything vibrates because the very nature of these electrons are vibrating. 2

Thought is Energy

Have you ever considered your thoughts as energy? If you haven’t heard or contemplated about this fact, this can be eye-opening, just like it was to me when I first learned it.

We – ourselves and all of our thoughts – are an energy system, not just a system of bones, fluids, and cells, but actually a multitude of energy systems encapsulating an inner energy system of thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

One of fascinating insights from Dyer’s The Power of Intention was understanding our world in terms of energy with different energetic level where higher energy can affect lower energy.

In understanding how our mind works, I believe it helps to start seeing our world in terms of energy as a first step. With this framework, we can understand ourselves more clearly: our body, our mind, and our spirit.

Five Levels of Energy

According to Dyer, there are five levels of energy comprising our world.

First, moving from lowest and slowest frequencies to the highest and fastest, we  have ‘the material world’ at the bottom. Solid form is energy slowed down so that it’s approximately commensurate with our sense perception of ‘the world of boundaries.’ Everything that we see and touch is energy slowed down so that it appears to be coalesced mass. Our eyes and fingers agree, and there we have the physical world.

Second, at the next level, there is ‘the sound world.’ We seldom perceive sound waves with our eyes, but they can actually be felt. These invisible waves are also high/low and fast/slow.

Third, there is ‘the light world.’ Light moves faster than the material world and faster than sound, yet there are no actual particles to form a substance called light. What we see as red is what our eye perceives a certain pulsating frequency to be, and what we perceive as violet is an even faster and higher frequency.

At this third level, there is an important observation made which gives us a startling insight: When light is brought to darkness, darkness becomes light. Low energy when faced with high energy experiences an automatic conversion.

Fourth, there is ‘the thought world.’ Our thoughts are an extremely high frequency of pulsation that moves beyond the speed of sound and even light. The frequency of thoughts can be measured, and the impact that they have on your body and your environment can be calculated. Here again, the same rules apply: Higher frequencies nullify lower; faster energies convert slower.

At the top of the hierarchy, as the ultimate level, there is ‘the spirit world.’ These frequencies are so supersonically rapid that the presence of disorder, disharmony, and even disease is impossible. They are the energies of creation and are the qualities of creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, peaceful abundance, and receptivity – the seven faces of intention itself. Dyer claims these are the highest energies of the universal Spirit itself. We came into existence from this energy, and we can match up with it energetically as we remove the low energy pulsations from our thoughts and feelings. (p69-70)

Three Powerful Characteristics of Thought

If our thought is an extremely high frequency of pulsation, our next job is to understand some of powerful characteristics of thought that we plant into our mind, both consciously and subconsciously.

Three important qualities can be drawn from above discussions and contemplation shared by the authors.

First, our thought is an extremely high frequency of pulsation that has the impact on our body and your environment.

Second, at the higher levels of the energy hierarchy – light, thought, and above – higher frequencies nullify lower; faster energies convert slower.

Third, at the realm of mind, thought forces, as moving energy, become powerful in accordance of its intensity.

Having this set of knowledge, what are we going to do?

If every thought we have is energy that will either strengthen or weaken us, our next step – our obvious homework – is be aware of own energy level and the actual frequencies of thought that we regularly employ in daily life.

Observing our own thought, where do we find ourselves in terms of energy level?

Acknowledging that we are our body, our mind, and our spirit, what’s the answer for this question: To which energy level do they each belong?

I believe this awareness is a good starting point to move on toward our quest of going in and working on our inner world.
